Binary Pulsars
Some pulsars form
binaries with other neutron stars (or black holes)
Radial velocities
resulting from the orbital motion lengthen the pulsar period when the
pulsar is moving away from Earth
… and shorten the
pulsar period when it is approaching Earth.
