| Vehicles:
*Keys are located in the WIRO mailbox in the Physics Dept. Each set of vehicle keys has a key to the observatory (#981), a small circular brass label with the UW license plate number on it (IE the Tahoe's keys says: 242), the stock room elevator's key (#5612), and the vehicles gas key button. Also grab a Walkie Talkie (also in the mailbox or in Nicole's room)
*Vehicles are usually park in the UW parking lot located near 14th and E Bradley Street.
*Gas should never be under ¼ of a tank. Go to UW gas station (also located on 14th street close to corner of E Lewis Street) and record mileage. Insert Key Card into gas station monitor; type in vehicle's mileage; type in your password; select pump; and fill up vehicle). If nearly out of gas while driving vehicle, go to closest gas station and fill up, saving the bill and recording the mileage.
*Check vehicle for safety. Make sure you are familiar with the 4-wheel drive, especially in the winter, as well as headlights, blinkers, tire pressure (if they look flat or not), and seat adjustments.
Liquid Nitrogen:
*Get IDR from Nicole or Lynn in the office as well as elevator key and mail cart.
*Take a 35-liter dewar, usually located in Jim's Lab or on Jelm (be sure to call ahead of time to figure out if the last observer needs to take an empty dewar down when they return)
*Open until 4:00 pm on UW workdays, Chemical Stockroom is located in the basement of the Physical Science building (Right out of the Service elevator). Hand the clerk the IDR, tell him the size of the dewar, and sign your name on the dotted line when you receive the full dewar. This takes about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the pressure in the tank and how busy it is that day.
*Load LN2 dewar securely into the vehicle. (If dewar spills while driving, roll down al windows until you can safely stop and secure dewar).
